newbie with first rolex has a question
I posted photos on the gallery page, but this post is hoping to get a little info. Here's my first rolex (I haven't owned a watch of any kind for over 20 years!!): a 1946 very original 14K gold Bubbleback. Obviously the band is not original, but just about everything else is. The dial has never been refurbished.
I'd like to find a band that looks similar to what this would have come with. Any ideas? Thanks, paul moore colorado springs, co |

Nice bubbleback! You would probably want to look at a 17mm pigskin band, I think it is similar.

Thanks Paul! You have a great Bubbleback, sometimes I think people overlook these little Bubblebacks though!

Old things in good condition have always intrigued me: old aircraft; old guns; old trucks and now an old watch. The old watch is the only member of the list that I had never owned. It looks like that's now remedied.

To me, this watch needs a croc/gator strap. Finding a 16-17mm version may take a bit of looking. I think the pigskin suggestion someone made is a good one, if you're trying to match the current strap.
If you want a more casual look, stay away from shinier straps. Also a nice option is white stitching on a strap. If you go to "watchuseek", they have a strap forum and a list of sellers in one of the permanent postings. Must be 20-30 sellers listed. |

Are you sure the dial hasn't been refurbished? I thought it should read "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" Maybe i'm wrong and these older bubble back had Officially certifed. Nice watch though! The 14k models always catch my eye
