Weird problem with Explorer II 3186

Hey All:

I have owned my Polar Explorer II for almost one year and have noticed on two recent occasions a dramatic loss in time immediately after resetting the time or hacking the watch to synchronize it.

In both instances, I had reset the second hand by hacking and adjusting the minute hand as required. A few hours later, I have noticed that the time had lost well over an hour in less the a 5-6 hour period. It is more like the hands stopped moving for a period during this time.

Am I doing something wrong???? I don't think so but find it strange that the watch runs bang on at all other times.

I am thinking a trip to RSC may be in my future.

It sounds like you should definitely take it in for a service as that is not normal.

There isn't must else you can otherwise do as that isn't something that will likely fix itself.

It's only when you change time? If it has only happened 2 times and it keeps time other wise...

I would think I would do another 20 "tests" on t before shipping it off...I've done the same thing on my Explorer II. They are unique due to how you can change the hour hand independently (as you know!)...

I called Dallas RSC and was advised to send it in so I will probably do so just for some peace of mind. Will definitely wait until after the holidays.

I can say that I am very impressed with Dallas RSC's customer service as compared with my Omega experience where I was basically reamed for not being able or willing to go through the dealer that sold me the watch.

Good luck. Hope it's nothing major.
