My Rolex Experience
I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to the members of TRF.
Up until recently I found that I wasn't interested in Rolex watches ... something about them didn't appeal to me on a level that I could identify with. However, my mind was recently changed as a result of a few things: 1) I was hanging out with a friend and he showed me his original '69 Daytona ... it wasn't until I saw that watch that I started to consider the possibilty of owning a Rolex. I love chronograph watches because of the complexity of the movements, and seeing one from Rolex was, ignorantly, something I never considered. 2) One of my trusted watch-collector friends showed me his light blue dial/light blue bezel Submariner. I'd never seen a Rolex in such a cool color and it opened me up to the possibilty that Rolex offered something beyond their black dial/black bezel fare. 3) I found this forum and started persuing the For Sale section. There are sooooo many different styles of Rolex that I became overwhelmed with variety. I mean, a "Coke" Submariner with a multicolored bezel?!? That's awesome!! A green dial/green bezel Sub?!!? I'd never thought it was possible. Then there are the non-Sub Rolexes ... such an amazing brand that I am almost ashamed at my previous disinterest. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really love this forum ... the wealth of knowledge is fantastic and the variety of watches seems endless. So ... thanks for the education and I hope to become a useful member of the community in the future. |

Once when I was very young with small wrists I remember saying that I'd never own a clunky Rolex. I still have small wrists, but I ended up with a Rolex, go figure?
