OD Green Zulu on my Explorer II. They were born for each other I think! Mesees a lot of wrist time on this one ... (I think I saw the same combo on another thread a few days ago)...

Now here for the question: This is the really thick Zulu ... I had to remove one end of each spring bar to slide it through and then push it back into the hole to fit it. It is snug and properly clicked into position ... I am just concerned with bending the spring bar. Anyone used this strap and had this problem (if it is indeed a problem)?

That's the beauty of one piece straps. If one spring bar fails you have another as backup.
I've had smaller spring bars fail but never the larger found on my Rolex and Tudor.

You have nothing to worry about the springbar will not bend especially since you have lug holes... It looks great and enjoy it without any concern!!!

I'd only use Zulu/NATO straps on lug hole spring bars and never on the smaller ones. So perfect setup!

I got it at BroadArrow (http://www.broadarrow.net/maratac.htm) as suggested by Jason71. Excellent service from them! I'd buy again in a heartbeat ... just be careful when you open the envelope ... I chopped the end of it as you can see in the pictures ... I need to get another one ... For my Explorer it is a 20mm.

try a Maratac O.D. NATO as well, it would look good on the explorer 2.....since it's fabric is a little thinner.....it fits better under spring bars & folds over one's wrist better.

Hey Bob,

I tried a NATO but it didn't really work for me. It is so thin that it leaves a big gap between the spring bar and the side of the case in between the lugs (which is unpolished and scratched from the bracelet ... it does not look good ... much better with the Zulu ... I hear that polishing this is a big no no).

The other thing I did not like about the NATO is that the top side (buckle side) is too short so the buckle falls on the side of my wrist ... I guess this is by design, but it just feels odd ... The beefier Zulu feels better balanced IMO.

I experienced the exact same issue with my Sub Lv. It has been nearly two years on the same strap and the springs bars haven't broken yet. I too was concerned when I put the strap on; almost seemed like a little effort was needed to pop it back into place (no lug holes....still no issues --- knock on wood)

may i suggest you try the red skunk on the Exp II (red skunk = black zulu with thin red stripe on it)... sorry, i do not have pics of the combo but i reckon it would look great on the Exp II -- black face matching the black strap, plus the red GMT hand matching the red stripe!
