My apology to you

Hi TRF,

I posted a link to an article yesterday ('warm and fuzzies') that offended a number of you. I'm really sorry as that was not my intention. And I made a point of not posting my personal comments on the article as I did not want to make the post a political piece.

Obvously, I failed miserably. Like you, I was offended by the spin that a certain group was placing on their former leader. Trust me - I was in no way being sypathetic to their cause. Quite the contrary. My immediate reaction to reading the piece was one of disgust and outrage. My knee-jerk reaction was to try and share my strong feelings on this topic by posting the article. Yes, a very bad and insensitive decision.

I have a lot of respect for you folks and it pains me that I caused such a reaction. Please accept my apology.

Craig

Great sense of humility Craig, I'm sure this is appreciated by everyone who was offended.

Thanks for the post Craig. To be honest what I am even more surprised about is the fact that the Seattle Times actually printed the article in the first place!

Thanks Craig.

I actually took that post as a failed attempt at dark humor and thought that it should have been posted in the 'Jokes and Cartoons' section of this forum rather than the 'Open' section.

No harm done.

Hi Graig, as a free speech advocate i did not take any offense. You just quoted an article so what? My understanding is that since you made no sympathetic comments for anyone there is no wrong in your quoting an article and it should be apparent that no harm was intended.

On the other hand, since some people are more sensitive than others it is nice that you acknowledge the fact that you had no bad intentions.

Peace man.

Here, here!

Even if you did make comments on it, so what. As long as its within forum rules, people whose sensitivities border eggshell thickness, don't have to read it. I understand no politics, but a general international issue can be discussed civilly.
