I'd recommend folding the extra piece of fabric the other direction so that it's "hidden" behind itself. And crease it a bit so that the fold it tighter! |

Prefer the bracelet as well but it looks quite nice! I'm sure a black leather strap with red stitches would look beautiful as well!
