pepsi c
Who thinks the 2012 show will introduce a ceramic pepsi Gmt II? How long after the show do the watches show up at dealers?

Last I heard was that mr Rolex still couldn't mix two colours on a ceramic bezel insert. Basel is usually around late March, and the watches should be released at around July/Aug/Sept or later depends where you are. |

We'll just have to wait and see.
The pepsi will never be the same as long as the are using Cerachom though. You just wont be able to change it as easily with the other colors and the cost and difficulty to actually change it will be a bit too much for most.

The showstopper for Rolex would be a ceramic Pepsi GMTII. I would definitely be game for one. They must give it a red GMT hand too.

It's just a matter of time and someone will figure out how to do it. It will be a sweet look, but I also love the "vintage" ones with metal bezels. I would love one, but I'm heading towards being a one watch person. Maybe sometime long down the road when I have the extra money and can afford two.
Interesting thing though. One of the first Rolex watches I remember making an impression on me was a Pepsi model. It looked all nice and shiny and relatively new. Today I love vintage watches, but this is about the only one watch that I only prefer in practically new condition. There are some beautiful examples of well "lived" watches here on TRF, but if given the choice, I would only wear a freshly polished one. |

I'm not sure if Rolex can ever get around the technical difficulties of joining the different coloured half bezels together, seamlessly. If they can do it, the proposed Pepsi and Coke GMT IIC would be a HOT seller for sure. I'll get one, for sure, as soon as it hits the market.
BTW, how cool would the Pepsi GMT IIC be if it came in Platinum only? Cca. $60K price tag would ruin it, of course

If they can't merge two colors on the cerachrome, I wouldn't mind them releasing a all red sub or gmt for a little color in the lineup.

Do the 2 colors have to run into each other? Why not just have a tiny separator in between where the red and blue come together to keep them from bleeding into one another?
The thought of a Pepsi C is delaying me from purchasing a GMT II now. I'd definitely be on board and from the sound of it so would many others. It would be a huge seller for Rolex. |
