MINI Owner right here! Would really like to have an Elise in the fleet too. As for a 4x4, gimme a Jeep Rubicon, and even though I don't know what a Ford Cortina is...no way I'd buy one. I've had too much bad luck with Fords.

Read The Millionaire Next Door for some interesting insights to wealth. I doubt the majority of millionaires even wear Rolexes either. Overall a thrifty bunch as should be the case.
Arturo,

You are 100% correct!

Well, I don't care much at all for the company FORD and will not purchase their products due to political reasons, their F350 and F550 are very reliable. Traveled all over Iraq with them and not many issues. Now Mercedes on the other hand, using Mercedes here in Afghanistan and many many problems, even though brand new. Mercedes fuel injectors and fuel systems are just not made rugged enough for the harsh environments, as Fords are.

I did read The Millionaire Next Door some time ago. Enlightening!

I'd like to see a study on the type of person who wears fake Rolexes!

I agree....Maybe in the UK...

In the states a BMW driver would only wear a Rolex if they could lease it.....

The Mercedes owners don't need a Rolex. The tow truck driver has a clock in his truck.

Funny. My boss and the guy in the office next to mine both drive BMW's, and both wear Rolexes.

CEO is a Rolex (gift from my boss) wearer, but drives a Prius.

My fellow 4runner drivers seem to have a lot of G-shocks or Seiko divers.

I used to be into "German Road Cars", and other European cars. I do love nasty cars as much as the next guy. But I observed smart, wealthy people driving Japanese cars...especially Honda, Acura, Lexus etc.....I now drive a Honda but could have any car I want. I may one day get another fun Euro car, but it sure is nice driving an a car that needs a tune up every 100K and doesn't hiccough until there are 300K on the odometer. The Japanese cars are simply flawless and seamless and work.

I do not own a Ford Pickup, but can see why many millionaires do. Many are small business owners, and this is a vehicle that is very useful.

As for Rolex, I would only pay cash and if I were to put one on a visa it would be for the miles or some such thing. I think it not too smart to go into debt for cars or watches but people do things like that.

Well, I am a BMW owner who have 4 Rolexes.
But I heard that a BMW owner is more impolite driving on the road than a Mercedes owner.

Comments and opinions are welcome!!!

No it is not the Alpina Model, but I too have always Loved the Wheels, so I lowered it and put the wheels on. I have been looking for the Original Hartge Design C wheels but no luck.

Lessee..........I know about five guys I play golf with who are especially heavy with cash. #1 has about 6 Rolexes and drives a Lexus LS460L and a Range Rover. #2 has lots of watches (at least 2 Rolexes I know of) and he drives a BMW 745il. #3 drives a BMW 545i and wears a Croton copy of a Rolex President. #4 is a retired Ford dealer, wears a Rolex and drives a Lincoln Navigator........and owns a Cirrus airplane which he flys a lot. Then there is a guy of very modest means with a Leased E350 Benz and a gray market President. An interesting mix.

Floridadogg,

Be careful with Golf Guy #1:

He drives the MOST RELIABLE car made, the Lexus LS460L, and the LEAST RELIABLE car made, the Range Rover.

The only logical explanation for this is either because the Range Rover is always being repaired he needs to have another car which is always in proper working order OR he is BIPOLAR.

Good choice!

Hartge is rare in the UK so must be like hens teeth in the US!

I had a b3 alpina a few years ago, it was an incredible beast, but cost so much in upkeep (tyres and service mainly), I had to let her go when I found out it was cheaper to run a Porsche!

The new M3 looks the business I think, but again, its cheaper to buy and run a Porsche Cayman. BM will still sell as many M3's as they can make though - and still have a 2 year waiting list!

Just like Rolex!

LOL.......Nahhhhhhhhh..........he just has too much money. He and his brother sold out to a public company and he cannot spend enough to keep up with the income thrown off by his stash. A terrible predicament to be sure.

From what I have noticed myself on the road, yes BMW drivers are very impolite, no I am not generalizing.
