Different Watch Box Sizes?

Hey Everyone,

My dad is in the market for a new White Gold Sub, I was at the jewelers with him and I think either he or I are very confused about Rolex's packaging of watches.

It was my understanding that Steel models get a Small box, Steel/Gold models get a Medium Box, and All Gold (Yellow/Rose/White) get a Large Box.

Is this not the case anymore? When my uncle got his all gold DJ 2 years ago, the box was much bigger than the one that they give on Gold Models at this AD ...

Am I mistaken? Is the AD Mistaken?

You are generally correct.

However, the watches come to the Ads in styrofoam & plastic cases. The Ads put the watches - along with books et al - in the green plastic presentation boxes. From time to time / depending on supply on hand, a watch may be sold in a random box.

Love to see some Small, Medium & Large Pictures...
All I got are the same for my Explorer II, GMT II and 11610LV...never knew there were different sizes.

If this were a childrens bedtime story (Ala 3 Little Bears) I'd read it every night.

Ok, but based on the pictures above, what should a Gold Watch come in ... specifically Gold Sport's Watch

If thats true, what do you have to buy to get the big one? I mean seriously thats the box I thought the gold models would get. Its not a big deal, especially since the Watch will not live in the box, just figured any all gold/plat watches would get the same big box.

I am told any regular SS gets the small box.
Higher up with Gold Bezel gets the bigger one.

The smaller one I have has 16520 Black Index label on the outer white box. A Daytona in a small box. I'd have never imagine that.

The biggest green one is for the regular President.
The Ultimate is for some crazy President Masterpiece.

If you request a bigger box you might get it from the AD.

Not sure what you are referring to but the big boxes come with the gold sports watches. The platinum DD comes with a huge box which makes the large look tiny and even has side compartments. Maybe you got the wrong box but I have 3 gold sports watches and all came with large boxes as did regular DD.

Those are pretty nice boxes, but I'm afraid that regardless of the size, they would wind up in the closet, which is where my "smaller" boxes are now.

Exactly its a packaging box if its made from plastic, wood, or any other material or any size its still a packaging box.

Thats the difference, for most people they do not use the box to store their watch, my dad does ... which is why this is important.

Actually, no, for us the papers are all in the safe deposit box with all of the important docs, the box is not the holder of those papers.
