A hello, a thank you, and a question.
Hey everyone. Just wanted to say hello and thanks to everyone on this forum. I find it very informative and downright amusing at times. Whatever it may be, it sure makes the work day fly by faster.
I just got my Daytona a few months ago and I don't like taking it off unless I have to. So with that being said, I have a few trips planned for next month and I am wondering if I need to bring any paperwork with me when I travel. I live in Canada and I will be visiting the US and the UK. Thanks everyone and have a good one! |

Hi GoFlames, welcome to the forum
I'm from the UK and was in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago! I wore my watch while traveling and there. My AD told me to take copies of the reciept and certificate with serial number on, so i could prove where I got the watch; just in case i got stopped at customs at either end. I didn't get stopped, but it was reasuring to know I could aswer any questions and prove ownership. I must say, what a great city Vancouver is! the Festival of Light was fantastic! and the people very friendly. wish I could move there!! |

Thanks for the insight guys. I guess I'm just a little wary of customs agents since I have to deal with them so much. Being from Vancouver, we take a lot of day trips stateside and it's always a hassle crossing and/or coming back. I'll take copies of the reciept and certificate as suggested by newsub. Thanks all and I'll post some pics soon.

Welcome GoFlames! I don't think you need to worry esp with just one watch you're carrying, but if you want to be safe, do keep a copy of the receipt.
I recently made a trip from TO to Buffalo wearing my Omega SMP 2594.50 and no hassles from customs both sides.

Welcome to the board, "GoFlames" I travel internationally a great deal with my Omega and previsouly with my Kobold and Doxa (just got my S-D, so no international miles on it as of yet). I always travel with one "nice" watch and a Timex Ironman (for running) all of the time and have never had a problem with Canada Customs (or Customs anywhere, for that matter).
As an aside, do you get razzed a lot in Canucksville for being a Flames fan? Ciao, James
