I was told the lume is the same...I don't believe it!

I posted a couple months ago about the LUME used and if it was different on a F Serial Explorer II compared to a then new M serial 16610LV.

I was told that they were the same. I don't believe it.

My Explorer II was in sleeve in a drawer for the last 3 days...I pulled it out and after it being in the bathroom light for just a couple minutes while I set the time it glowed 10x's better than my LV.

How is this possible. I've noticed this a bunch before but was told I was crazy but now I believe that something is different. No questions.

Thoughts?

I have noticed the same Mickey, the lume on my v serial Exp2 is both more intense and lasts a greater duration than my v serial subdate. I believe they are supposed to be the same but I have noticed a BIG difference.

Cheers

It does seem that way, the lume on my former white 16570 was most noticeable at dusk

I've noticed the same thing and the explanation I got was that the lume coating on the EXPII was thicker than on the Sub.

Thicker coating = better lume

Ok. Glad lots of you guys see the same thing....

And Fr. John that makes a lot of sense...thicker would probably be "better".

Rolexes are sure not known for their lume so if you really want your watch to glow in the dark there are better choices(watches that use Tritium...for one)!!!
