Nice! I love GS'.

I like both the Omega and the Explorer. I would only buy the Explorer if I really didn't need the date function. I have a AK without date for daily wear. That works for me because I work at a computer so I can always see the date. In weekends I wear a watch with date function.

BTW, I love GS'. I would go for the SBGH001.

Or at least try to find a SBGR075

But that's just me maybe :D

I put on the Explorer last week...I was very close to a deal, I just couldn't get past not having the date( I know it sounds crazy) but if I was only choosing between those 2 it would be the Explorer.

Well...

Well, although I love the classic looks of the Explorer, I've had a 41mm AT and man do I regret letting it go now. I should have kept it. Perfect size, classy, yet sporty, and mine was super accurate. With the half link I had no trouble finding the right fit for me. Lume was decent too, and the display back shows off one heck of a movmement. I was also quite fond of the new crown.

The feature I miss the most is the jumping hour hand. It's like having a GMT watch, and I travel between timezones and really miss this feature now.

Good watch...I highly recommend one. Here's some pics of the one I owned.

Explorer. It's one of my favourite Rolex watches. So very clean.

Love the 8500 movement, but I would get the Omega ceramic PO at less money than the Explorer.

Curve ball answer: Have you looked at the Speedy Pro?

Reasons to like the EXP are thin case, black legible dial, comfort and durability.

If you're already willing to deal with the lack of date on the Explorer, the Speedmaster Pro is very thin, very comfortable, has an excellent movement, a chronograph as a bonus, possibly the most readable dial of any chronograph, and even the guys that are stalwart Rolex-ophiles have a deep respect for the piece. I know its a chronograph and thus a fair bit different, but it does share a lot with the Explorer 39 in style and historic roots.

Even diehard AMG fans peer out of their SL63 with great respect with an E30 M3 comes by, 3570.50 is Omega's E30.
