trying to find the correct watchband for my grandfathers unicorn / rolex watch.
hello everyone.
I was told on another forum and read on this forum that some unicorn watches were made by rolex. this is my first post and like most first posts i am needing help and i may have placed this in the wrong section as well. i'm trying to find out what band or type of band my grandfathers watch would have originally had on as it was recently given to me. i have no idea how old it is, but the band on it is brand new so i know thats not the correct band. i have included 2 pictures that may help date it, to even get a rough idea on an era i can use to start looking for a band. it has his name engraved on the back and also dated 1940 something. that doesn't help as i know it wasn't his birth date and i was told he liked old things when he was alive. i have also found out he engraved dates on his watches to remember special days. This date is new years eve. i have searched through other forums and cannot find much in the way of unicorn watches that look like this one. even the internet reveals very little in pictures as the same as this. if anyone knows the style of the band it should have and can help that would be great as i want to wear the watch myself. some pictures of watches sort of like this have bands with stiching and others don't. different shades of strap also seem to go with different faces / gold colour. i know it's not a true labelled "rolex" but i need all the help i can get... thanks in advance |
