50th Anniversary SD anyone?
Well with Basel 2012 approaching fast does anyone wish to see a 50th anniv. SD? I wish they would keep the 16600 platform and do the following mods.
- Ceramic bezel - Domed crystal with AR underside coating - Matte dial ala DSSD - Maxi dial - No chrome surrounds on hour markers - Red 'Seadweller' and depth rating text That would be a PERFECT watch in my book . Though this is at the very best only a dream as Rolex are more interested in selling as many watches as they can (particularly to posers who want the world to know how rich they are) nowadays .... |

+1 on classic bezel. The shiny ceramic one isn't half as nice.

I'd like to see what a ceramic sub no date would look like. Think I'd buy one. Maybe.

Cool idea. I'm not a huge fan of some of your choices though. I wish they would've kept the SD and just added the new stuff from the sub c. My dream watch.

For a 50th anniversary Rolex adds green somewhere. (eg. Green bezel Sub, green GMT hand)

Is this year the 50th anniversary of the SD? That would be really cool if they came out with something. They did with the Sub and GMT right? Why not the SD? :)
Looking forward to Basel! |
