Canadian AD purchases
I live in Halifax and was quoted $ 8750.00 for Datejust II with white 18kt bezel, (no tax 15%). I'm heading to Ottawa next week and curious if any members have purchased in Ottawa, and if so what type of discount can be had.

The 116334, steel with white gold is $8750 CAN in Toronto area, Discounted 20% face to face but then taxed 13%. If you can get a 15% discount and no tax, take it!! Discounts are down from 22-25% since rolex charging AD's 3.5% more in 2012 in lieu of a price increase to customers and to discourage discounting :-(

Sounds like maybe a better deal in Ontario, I would pay 8750 in Halifax as the Ad is taking the tax off only, in Ontario it would be 8750 less 20%=7000 +13%=7910

I bought one in Vancouver, but sometimes an AD will give you the watch at the store and ship the box to your home. Provided the AD doesn't have a business precence in your province of residence, you can avoid being charged provincial sales tax (by records showing the shipment of the watch box out of province). Check with the particular AD first. Good Luck!
