Want that SS Daytona?
Visited Ross & Simon at Christiana Mall the other day. I got to talk to Robert Fausey. He was the one sales person I found knowledgable about Rolex at that store. Although Ross Simon hired all the old J E Caldwell salespersons, not all of them were knowledgeable about the product. Anyway he said that when they opened Rolex stocked them with two of every model. This is what they do to all new stores. The SS daytona's and the Green Dial subs were gone within ten minutes. He said they won't see another for months. So if you want a SS daytona . Finf a new Rolex store that is opening and be the first in line. BTW he said that there were customers in line from New York, Conneticut and as far as Mass to get hard to get watches.

Interesting, the Daytona must be harder to see at an AD back east, than out west, where I seems to find them all the time, even SS

They are on the TRFs for sale section all the time... The wait is however long it takes the carrier to get it to your doorstep...

Sounds like wait lists are for folks who don't do their research.
Plenty of Daytonas one click away from this thread. Finding a new AD and hoping for one of their starter stock seems like a fluke Vs a serious strategy. |

Yeah, there might be many places to get them, but still, buying a brand new SS Daytona, with the newest clasp, at MSRP, and with your own name on the original papers, still requires for one to look in the right places, and maybe even wait a bit. Not as long as in the past though. I'm glad to say I will be gettinig mine by the end of the month.

the AD's around here have Daytona's - or can get one quick - no wait lists.
however, it's probably the only model you're not going to get any discount on. eBay and this forum are flooded with them - even new ones. |
