I have that watch as well as a GMT Iic and a Sub LV. When I want to go out I put on the date just. The bezel catches the light and the jubilee band can't be beat for comfort and looks. What you read here is over balanced toward sport watches compared to Rolex sales. I have a 7 1/2 wrist and the 39 inch bezel has a classic look. Besides with a Rolex don't worry about what others say. It's the best selling Rolex for a reason. Let him enjoy a great wedding gift.

Congratulation on your wedding. The DJ is fine. I wear one to work everyday. It is a classic and subtle watch. It is easy to match any color shirt or suit.
I'm sure he will love it. I helped my friend to get a stainless steel black dial daytona for her future husband and he wear it every night when he is home. He is afraid of getting scratches on it. So, he still wear his DJ tyo work everyday. |

I'm 22 175 lbs and I just bought myself my first Rolex a 36mm datejust same as the one for your husband but black roman dial. I wanted a classic piece that I could wear forever (a graduation gift for myself). He will love the watch!

You chose a beautiful example of the DateJust line.
This may not be the watch for all occasions, but it is certainly versatile enough to be at home dressed up or down. It is truly elegant and will reflect well upon you and your husband.

This is coming from a guy that has a DJII and has a large frame so the 36mm looks even smaller on me (6'6" 230 lbs)- I think the 36mm DJ is a WONDERFUL watch for a man and I had a hard time choosing between the 41 and 36mm. I'm sure he'll love it.

Hi Sarah and welcome to TRF!
I will echo the other sentiments here and say you have made a lovely selection indeed! I am a gal who wear that same style DJ but with a white roman dial and I ADORE it! It is still very much a man's watch and so classic and timeless, so don't second guess your decision for one more second. I am sure he will love it! |
