N00B's 6241 question
Hi folks,
i usually stood away from rlx, because i witnessed a scene at a watchmaker years ago, where a client unwrapped an 18k older cosmo and the watchmaker opened the case and both looked at a nice and shiny 2824 ETA ... oops So i looked for other brands to collect. But to be honest i always liked the older valjoxu72 daytonas... No i got offered a 6241 with a serial 2996xxx (which should be according several lists on the net an early 1970 watch). I did some research on the net and did not find a 6241 with a LATER serial. So i've to pass this question to you pro's. Any hint if a 6241 with a serial 2996xxx is original? Thanks guys! |

Early Daytonas are a minefield and they all need to be approached with caution..
Rolex stamped the year inside the casebacks up into the early 70's, so it's a place to look as a start... an early 6241 needs to be researched inside and out if you are serious.. it is quite an investment... (moved to the Vintage Board)
