Back From The Spa Treatment My Rarish Rolex Ref 8940
Today my watchmaker called me to tell me he has completed the watch I gave him... I did not take before photos but he has done a great job.
This watch dates to 1940 and the only other Ref# 8940 I could find was from a Heritage Auction back a few years and it had a lesser movement listed in the description. This was a 17J. adj to 2 positions. This watch has an 18 jewel movement adjusted to 5 positions. The watch is 37mm without the crown and for a 72 year old piece, it is in much finer shape than myself at only 47 years old. I will have to ask my watchmaker to see what he can do for an overhaul for me personally... A little light polish may do a little bit of good for me. If you have any info on this reference number for me, it would be greatly appreciated.. please email me.... Thanks, |
