Difference between tritium and lumi hands
Hello All,
A quick question - Please could you tell how you can tell the difference? I'm looking to buy a vintage Explorer 2 and I think the hands have been changed to Lumi's, but I am not sure. Thank you |

Lumi responds to light, tritium doesn't. Hold the watch close to a light bulb, or other light source--a flashlight will do. If it is lump, or a variant thereof, it will beam brightly for a period afterward.
Tritium will glow independent of being exposed to light until it poops out [years later]. |
