Between those two, I'd get the 14060M. It's the last of the classic Subs, in my view, and I particularly like the lug holes and lug shape. One of the great things about the 14060M is that for years, it has been its "own watch," with features and dimensions totally unique to it, and that strong link to the Sub's heritage. However, now the 114060 is just a 116610 without the date...nothing else to set it apart, and nothing to make me particularly want to get it.

Well, the functionality will not be a criteria: the14060 has been abused for years without failing. Ok, it is a bit more noisy with the endlinks but that is all.

BUT aeshetically, which one does smile at you? Listen to passion, not reason.. because reason tend to decrease over the time, and passion stays forever.

If you are a flipper, the 14060 will have better resale value in the next 10 years or so. If you want up to date technology and improved solidity, go for the newer model!
Most important, which looks better on your wrist!

I bought a Sub C last month cause I don't tends to sell my watch and it looks stunning on my wrist!

I disagree. How many 16610s do you se bringing anything close to what a SubC is going for. Same with modern GMTs. The modern ND Sub is never going to be rare and collectable. Just because it's being discontinued doesn't mean the value is going through the roof.

Hard to predict. Depends on prevailing collector sentiment in a few decades' time. On the whole, the 14060(m) will never be rare... But the COSC will have only had barely a 4-year production run, assuming it is in the process of discontinuation... still a lot of them out there and not difficult to source but collectors may subdivide them. Who knows what will be deemed desirable in 50 years time?

Mine doesn't grate. Not sure what you talking about. I don't regret my purchase at all. In fact I'm wearing my 14060m now. I think I am spoiled by this comfortable light weight watch.

I tend to think the lighter the more comfortable personally. Don't let the blu hairspring be a deciding factor though, you really wont be able to tell one way or another with this item. However the actual case size and bracelet will make a difference. Comparisions can be made now between the older Sub ND and a SubC. Go for the one that makes you the happiest.

I have had the DSSD with what is the most advanced Rolex clasp but I got rid. The 14060 is my daily wear and I wouldnt swap it for anything.

I have a 14060M which is my ode to the classic Sub ... but I would also like the new kid on the classic Sub block so i'd also go with the modern 14040M with that ceramic bezel, updated case and bracelet, that is the bomb.

The 14060M is a paragon of functional design and is absolutely timeless. The new bracelet is good step forward though.

In the end, what the unwashed masses of TRF thinks doesn´t matter one iota. Try both on and go with whichever makes your heart beat a little faster

If one wanted to replace the spring bars on his 114060 with shoulderless spring bars, and not wishing to remove the bracelet, could this be done?
