Haha yeah I think I now know everything. Fingers crossed for now... like I said, I will get a sub soon so strap will be used for the sub in case it doesnt work with DJ. Nothing much to lose here.

Is the reason why DJ looks more dressy is because of its bezel?

I wouldn't on a DJ. Too dressy for that. Any sport model, definitely.

Over time you will develop your own style and you will not worry what others think. Developing your own style is a process, which requires you to try new things. Therefore, I say go for it, nato style!

I love my NATO's...TRF got me hooked on them, I dig the fact that I'm wearing an "expensive" watch on a $10 strap.

HOWEVER.....

My girlfriend says it makes my sub look like a cheap watch so back on the bracelet it went.

Used to wear a lot of nylon ribbon straps with my goldtone whatever it was back in college, the Preppy Handbook days. Matched them to the color of my button down shirts(starched till they were stiff) and Izods which are now Lacoste. I'm sure they're still in a box somewhere at my Mom's house. For me, I'd only wear one with a dress watch.

But then we also wore shorts shorter than boxers so they showed about an inch, so what do I know?

You gotta do what you want. I don't think a nato would look great on a DJ but I guess it depends which DJ you have. A black nato could look OK on a SS DJ with a black dial I suppose. for sport models I think natos look great for a DJ I would stick to leather, gator, etc...

Did you at least match the exposed boxer with the nylon straps ?

In my opinion, not at all. The NATO will preserve my now some what fragile bracelet. Also the NATO strap adds to ones personal style.

I think the intent of the Nato criticism was about a nylon strap in a dressier situation.

Guys, have a look in a J.Crew catalog... Men are wearing NATO's on Timex's with Ludlow suits. A nice balance. In our case it's a Rolex on a NATO.

I would like to see what you come up with however, I don't think I have seen a DJ on on a Nato yet.

Thanks for the link. Orange may have not been the best choice. I must agree that I have seen quite a few leather straps that work real well with a DJ.

Don't care for them. I think a ND Sub looks just OK with them. The rest of the lineup needs to stay away from straps.

I love the NATO straps, but it depends on which watch you put it on.
