I like JM's guitar playing.....I like his jam w/ B.B. King & E.C. Had heard he was a watch guy, the article showed a simpatico side of a watch guy, I look forward to reading more of his stuff.

it was a great article. I think one of the most refreshing parts about it was how un-snobby he was about other brands like G-Shock for example. yes, it's a Casio.
Watches are great and to each their own as far as what they want to spend or what makes their wrist feel special. I admit, there's certain brands I would never buy. But that doesn't mean that it isn't something special to someone or that person has a certain affinity to the brand that isn't so easily understood. but lets not forget, for us to have and own watches on this site, we're part of a very small minority of people in the world who are lucky and fortunate enough to own such a luxury. Let's keep it classy and truthful like JM did. It's all too easy to come off the wrong way when you have something worth more than people's cars on your wrist! |

Clapton is a big rolex fan, I wonder if he influenced JM more than just on the guitar front!

Funny how things change. Saw him many times in Atlanta back in the 90s before his fame, really nice guy with a large local following. He didn't have those extraordinary pieces back then of course!

I think the negative feelings about him (that I'm aware of) were due to his his talking personal trash about his relationships with women (Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston). Maybe he's an OK guy but was immature that way.
Dont flame me but have to say - If that's his wrist in the photo, it looks prettier than mine (and I'm a woman) Quote:

You really know someone is a true WIS when he/she appreciates a G-Shock as much as a Patek. Very cool.

John Mayer is way cool.
Here's a thread I wrote some time ago that has some cool info about John's watch obsession. http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....4&postcount=15 I like this quote: “On tour, I can’t really carry around a lot of stuff,” he explained, sitting in a New York recording studio. “But you know what? I can pack a little roll of watches and wake up in the morning in Milwaukee and look at the watches and go, ‘Who do I want to be today through this one piece?’ It dictates a little bit of the mood.” I think a lot of people on this forum can relate to this. |
