It's interesting..I am of the "one watch" camp. But a lot of people support an understated one-watch approach. Makes me wonder if I would every really bring a GMT II c or Explorer II on an overseas trip, or if I would just stick with my Explorer I. In which case, I don't really need to buy either watch. Will have to give that one some thought.......

It clearly depends where I'm going and when I was in Brazil last year, I bought a £200 watch just for the trip and gave it away to a friend when I got back. But generally, I will take 3 or 4 of my newer ones that could easily be replaced if necessary so not my vintage.
I just need the variety wherever I am...... Can't help it and will often change day and evening each day on holiday depending on what I'm doing........ So golf watch, beach/pool watch, dinner/club/dress watch and general wear/travel watch. They're all insured and I just enjoy having them with me...... Simple as that |

Honestly, I take one decent watch and one or more inexpensive but dramatic pieces. I've been known to wear one on each wrist for multiple time-zones and this has the added advantage of getting strangers to avoid me, since I'm is obviously raving.

Depends where I'm going and what I'll be going. I usually take one on my wrist and one in my carry on.

I take only one watch with me when I traveling. The rest of the collection will be kept in a vault....

Exactly, I'm stiff mad at myself for passing on a blue tt sub in St Lucia a few years back. The deal at the time was at least a 1,000 cheaper than I could get here not counting the sales tax savings. I think there was lag in price increase between US and Caribbean AD list price.

Depends lostly on where I am going....if its london I will take a rolex and never remove it but if it is the DR or somewhere like that I either will take an $85 guess watch or no watch at all. Not necessary to flaunt a multi-thousand dollar piece in a country where the average person makes >$300 a month.

Depends on the type of holiday. On a cruise, I'd take the SS GMT for day and the TT Sub for night. For my Alaska cruise next week, I'm taking just the GMT and a nice dress watch my fiancée gave me a couple of years ago. We’re getting married in one of the ports and I thought it would be nice to wear the watch she gave me.
When I’m on a motorcycle trip with the lads, I usually don’t wear one. There’s a clock on the bike if I need one. |

Well I am sitting here sipping a beer with my GMT 2c and have to say it was the right choice to leave the others, it has revived my love for this watch, after two recent acquisitions it has not got much wrist time of late.

I usually rotate through my watches for my vacations. However, since getting the GMTIIC, I can see myself only taking that watch from now on.

I pick one out of my collection and wear it the entire time. Only time I may have more than one is if I buy one on the trip.
