WG vs SS Daytonas

Looking at getting a Daytona and will probably sell off some watches that aren't getting any wrist time in order to hep do so.

Thinking I want to go via an AD, so the SS option is doubtful without a long wait. Wanted to knwo what you all thought of the WG bracelets. Seems it would still be very stealth looking. Of course it would be heavier and maybe a bit less durable, but what else would lead you to get or reject WG as an option?

Thanks.

Steve, I simply can't get enough of that watch!!

I, for one, am a big fan of WG. It's my wallet that isn't.

Hi,
The WG Daytonas have some great dial options. One of my favs is the Black with Arabic numerals. The WG is far more expensive but you should be able to push for a good discount. The SS Daytonas can be hard to source depending on your location and the relationship you have with your AD. Although the SS & WG look the very alike the WG Dial options are instantly recognisable. If you can afford it you have to go for it :)
Best of luck !

The MRSP is £16460,

I have two my self, one on bracelet and one on strap. I have the silver arabic dial on bracelet and meteorite on strap. I love both and today when I gave my daytona to get a dial change, today. I tried on th new GMT 2, it felt non existent. Once you try the WG, you will never feel like you are wearing a watch, as all others feel like toys.

I love mine, I will miss my wg on bracelet.

I got the white face white gold with arabic numbers:

http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=23272

I love the font used on the outer bezel as well as the arabic numbers inside. The white gold does scratch much easier. I've been lucky so far on the face but I do have some very slight scratches on the bracelet.

I know what you mean, I use mine for my everyday beater and it has marks every where. But I am not worried as a trip down to rolex in 4 years will make it perfect agin.

Look at it this way, it's only 3 SS Daytona's worth (not at MSRP)!

Steve, thank you so much for sharing! It's beauty cubed.

It sure looks silver to me but everyone I've talked to calls it the white face version (as opposed to the black and meteorite). But yeah, it's definitely a very light silver in color.

To me eye the silver dial has a hue to it which goes 'GREAT'!!! with the WG tones, and very daytonaesque [is that a word] so many nice choices when you step up to the mark!

Sorry, but for me there is only ONE Daytona:

The SS Daytona!

It's a matter of personal taste and preference, but I for my part just don't like WG. I would feel kind of "cheated" wearing a watch that looks like SS but costs much more than SS.

For me the only good Daytona is the "bed pic" Daytona.
