What I have here is amazing. I have never seen in person a more pure and beautiful 5508 gilt dial, ever. This is rare not only because of the exclamation point dial, but also because it is a ghost dial. Ghost dial for those of you that are not familiar with the term, means that both the "Depth and Submariner" on the dial are in Silver which is terribly rare. Normally on 5508 gilt dials we are used to seeing the more common "depth rating" in silver and "Submariner" In gold paint.

What you see pictured for sale is exactly what you will get.
The watch has a perfect A++++ condition Domed tropic crystal. Service insert with aged Trit pearl that matches the dial perfectly. The pearl is 100% perfect condition and I mean perfect and still glossy. The case looks to be unpolished as the lugs are very fat and the chamfers still there. case holes are not intruding what so ever. no corrosion on this case. case back A+ condition. This watch literally must have been in a drawer for the past 50+ years because the condition is amazing. The movement is super super clean with the most vivid gold crown on the rotor that I have ever seen. Keeps perfect time. 7206 SWISS riveted bracelet date stamped 1964 is in excellent condition, the bracelet has been lightly polished, very strong, little stretch which is to be expected for a watch of this age. bracelet has 12 links not including the SEL's. SEL Links are 80's end pieces.

pictures DO NOT do this watch justice. Looks even better in person. I never thought I would get rid of this watch, but I must to fund a new purchase. My loss is going to be your gain. It would be a shame for a watch this beautiful to not be really enjoyed by someone else now. The bezel is brass alloy and rotates very smooth like butter! original and holds a strong pressure fit for the insert, so no glue or popping up inserts!! serial numbers are crisp and clean, perfectly visible.
