Look what I discovered after almost three years!

I bought myself an ultrasonic cleaner, thinking I could get my bracelets to last a bit longer.

First one in hasn't been cleaned, other than some rinsing in the shower, since I got it almost three years ago.

It came out looking very nice.

But, what's this??

I found what I thought was the last sticker after about six months of use, but it seems it took an ultrasonic cleaner to get what I now believe to be the last one to show. After almost three years!

The water was still looking pretty clean, so I put the razors in as well.

Came out looking brand new.

Yep they work, I have one and use it semi regularly. Especially on the Aerospace bracelet which is my gym watch.

When you use the baskets run the cleaner for a little longer than normal as the plastic degrades the performance.

To funny, I think I found my last sticker about 1 and 1/2 years after first getting one of my watches. On others I used to find them for months as well.

Maybe I need to do the same as you just to make sure I got them all.

So it looks like your bracelets weren't really that dirty when just conducting normal cleaning on regular basis.

Now all you need do is rub it with some magical cloth and the gold will wink and shine at you!
Nice cleaning job.

What does an Ultrasonic cleaner cost and where would be a good place to buy from in the US?

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed to only see a few small "smoke pillars" rising from the pin and spring bar holes.

All the black muck you can see in this photo is gone now though.

There are heaps on Amazon.com for about $40:

Is there any good reason to use the basket if bracelets are put in one at a time? I used it since the manual said it was the way to go.

Great PIC, thanks for posting.

So it did help quite a bit.

That's funny, I just found a pretty large sticker on the inside of my clasp after 2 months and I was sure they were all off.

Maybe there's a need for a Sticker Removal Tutorial sticky (is that an oxymoron?)

Good purchase, I think. I can see me getting one, if nothing else to occasionally clean my wife's jewelry.

I heard the same thing, never put the head itself in the cleaner

I thought so too at first, but it just took a few weeks to get the setting and balance just right. Now I can't do without it, and the Futur, which I normally have in my travel kit, just doesn't get close enough.

Use washing up liquid? Is this normal practice with ultrasonics?

Thanks.

Apparently the plastic basket degrades the cleaning ability of the ultrasonic cleaner, guess another barrier of sorts so just clean for a little longer. Cheers Jules

Great pictures, looks like the cleaner did a good job!

Now for that sticker...it makes me want to take a look at my almost 30 years old Rolex...just in case!

Good to hear about the ultrasonic -- will look into buying one!

I also have a Merkur Futur and I don't understand the appeal of this razor. I thought I was pretty coordinated and careful until I put a serious cut right under my nose!

I swear with each purchase Rolex finds more places to put stickers. I think there might be a correlation between number of stickers and price increases. Both seem to have gone up lately.
