Sea Dweller: Lug holes vs no lug holes
After a very long time I've decided on purchasing a Sea Dweller 16600 as my first Rolex. There's only one question, lug holes or no lug holes.
What does either system offer as a benefit? Which is going to have higher resale value? Thanks in advance :) |

Go w/ the lug holes.......easier to take bracelet off.....plus they are very cool.

I'll have none please.
All else being equal, don't think it will affect the value either way.

No lug holes. Cleaner look, unless you plan on using NATO straps.

Don't matter to me, same watch and same look. If you're looking for resale value, no one knows. It's my favorite of the diver watches.

Don't know why Rolex stopped producing lug holes on their ultimate tool watch, the 16600/Dweller.
Could'nt vote, in spite of loving lug holes I'd have to go for a newer SD, sans lug holes, imo. |

Have to agree apart from the switch from Tritium to Luminover, non lughole case and a few minor fonts etc the 16600 has changed very little since 1988.

i suppose i would need some sort of drill press and a way to .... oops, caught myself again i had a M serial SD and traded to a Y serial ... lugholes are the last vintage feature to fade away... they are so practical.

at this point, SD is a throw-back to earlier times, so, might as well go all-in and get the lug holes.

Of course we sadly too often hear of resale value as a priority when buying a watch...but I don't think I've ever heard of lug holes as an impact...just a personal preference.

No Lug Holes. I prefer the cleaner look without the holes.
