do you think if i go just for lugs . Keeping the dial with roman numerics (no diamonds) and nothing on bezel intact . Then will it ruin the watchs personality or enhance it.

I would personnaly go for no diamond at all. It's not needed on a Rolex.
Do you have an idea on the price of these models , and is it a potential issue for you ? |

fI you wanted to spice it up I would go no further than add the diamond markers. Any more than that detracts from this very special Rolex.

i just got the price for the 118206 Platinum. The default model with everyting including the Ice Blue dial is 56,945 $ .
An additional 5000$ will be charged for the Lugs. My budget is around 70,000 $ so if i buy the base model for 56,945 i am still saving around 14000 $. Hence price is not a potential issue. Lastly i will get around 8 % discount on the price above as well. |

Thanks Direct. Thats a great advice. But i am worried about losing the Big Roman Numerics if i add diamond markers on dial.

Thanks to all of you for helping me out so much.
I did place my order today with my Rolex AD. I paid him 2 million Rupees which is around 20,000 $. The deal is done. My watch will be here till June. I finalized with the Fabulous 118206 Platinum Ice Blue Roman Dial. NO Diamonds at all :-). One thing which he told me which i didnt understand very well. The 118206 is around 800 $ expensive with the Roman Ice Blue Dial as compared to the standard Ice Blue Dial Shown on Page 1. ( There are 3 ice blue dials in total. one in diamonds, one in roman and one is normal with sticks) |

Congratulations, it would have been my choice too .... if my bank representative authorized me ..
Regarding the 800$ supplement for Roman Dial , it could be because the Roman letters on the dial are made of white gold. ps: look at your private messages, there's something for you. |

Hello,
after finalizing my order i reserached a bit and checked on the prices in states, finland, germany and dubai. There was some price difference. Secondly i went double minded again on the 41mm Day date 2 or the 36mm. Hence i cancelled my order. I got my Visa for Dubai and went there to see and try them both out by myself. I did not got exactly the same model with the same dial etc but basically i got to try out the same model with a different dial which was good enough for me. I tried it at 3 different AD and got the pictures too. The pictures are below. Finally i have come to the conclusion that the 41mm suits me better then the 36mm and it looks better as well. I have ordered my 41mm 218206 Day Date II platinum with no diamonds at all. Ice blue Roman Dial ( not the Ice Blue Conc dial). |

Very nice final choice.
I like the arabics on the Pt DD II. I am not a fan for diamonds but the diamond markers did look good on the 36mm Pt DD. Post some pix when you get it and enjoy wearing it.

The Day-Date II glacier dial is completely different than the 36mm President. its a different color and the numerals are blue. really just depends on what you like best. personally i like the 36mm's color. its closer to silver but its unique.
