What time is it?
Just wondering what site/location is best to use for THE CORRECT TIME , in order to set one's Rolex?
I am in the UK , but appreciate ALL feedback. I'm a tad confused because the 2 links below show different times , and I want to set my DJ to the correct time http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watch...r/introduction http://www.timeanddate.com/library/a...es/eu/bst.html Thanks TRF folks |

When the sun is at its highest point in the sky, set your watch at 12:00 noon.

Rolex.com isn't a place to set your time from, just as the clock on TRF is not accurate.. It simply syncs to whatever your computer says, it is not an independent source..

Well don't think a second or so either way really matters out of 86400 in a day.Even after a week of wearing I bet 98% of all Rolex on this forum and perhaps world wide would be less than a minute fast of slow anyway.Dont think today that anyone's life is run to the exact spot on second if it is then I feel truly sorry for them.

Yes, Peter, we should all feel sorry for the internet gnomes who keep it all running...
As good as they are, the engineers can't trump internet propagation delay so using any reference clock source on the internet is inherently inaccurate for those who want "spot on" time hacks. Network Time Protocol (NTP) does not satisfy time-sensitive applications and even IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and IEEE 802.1AS don' t calculate the communication path asymmetry. Add to that our own human interface delay (mine and your ability to see something and then react to it) and you'll always be off 1 sec. Time to relax...

Get yourself an atomic clock from Amazon.
Will cost you about £10 and will be accurate to about a second every million years. Works by updating from a radio signal from Frankfurt if your in the UK. Just about accurate enough for me..... |
