Funny sales people

I just called my local Panerai AD and asked about the 372. They said it is a very rare piece they would only sell to prefered clients if they did indeed have one. I informed them that there are 372's in stock at numerous AD's acdross the country and I could get one of those if you don't want to sell me one. I told them yes, they are very rare at your store if you don't have one, but in my mind I am thinking don't give me this very rare crap and create a false sence of, jeeze, I am so lucky you allow me to spend $10,000 at your store! Get a clue sale people! If you have a product to sell, sell it! Quit the hype! I don't fall for that stuff!

What a DB...."only sell to prefer clients?!?!"
How sad, you are meaning to tell me that you have to buy several "not so unique pieces" from HIM/HER to become privilege enough to spend $10k?
This is why "some" look at anyone wearing a Rolex and sigh! They know you MUST be an idiot to jump thru the hoops and follow the herd.
If memory serves me right someone here is selling a real rare Pam (Brad Pitt model) loved it if you bought that one and then visit the AD. Then you could point out how they missed a sale.
Funny creatures some sales people who survive on commissions yet turn away a large sale.

They should have just said we don't have any. Sorry they treated you so disrespectful. The good/bad news is that you can't really get the hot Panerai's from AD's any more (unless you are preferred clients.....). You should be able to get one from a boutique easily.

I agree...enough with the slimy sales stuff. Just be honest about the fact that you're selling them as fast as you can get them in and they seem to be more available in the last few weeks. It's insulting.

I'm not sure what's happening out there but they do seem to be popping up all over...even on the used market.

Makes you think what it takes to be the preferred client - is it the one time sucker that they sold a piece to , that they couldn't move elsewhere ??

Buy enough of those and maybe next time I will do you a favor and sell you something that is a little more rare

Crazy !!

I got to try one on at the tourneau here in Chicago. Great to see the 372 doesn't look cartoonish on my dainty wrists. It was on hold for someone else, but they were nice enough to let me see it. And they said they can get one in a week if i want it. I have never bought anything there as I have found them to be a bit impersonal in the past plus I can usually get better deals out of state. Of course no deals yet on the 372... However, I was impressed with how friendly they were on this visit and was great to finally try it on

I don't even have a local AD! In fact, there isn't one on the entire island where I live.
However on a recent visit to Sydney, a watch dealer in The Strand Arcade had a 372 in stock, as well as a very tasty 231. They didn't mind me trying them on, indeed they would've loved it had I bought one or both!

Great models in high demand, until the next new ones come along.

They're leaking out the last of the 372s. The n run is almost over. That's why a lot of ADs are getting them so frequently lately.

Call the boutiques (virtually every one has them in stock-for now).

& Now a little story...

My AD had one (372) and showed it to me. I did what most would do and said I would do it! The Salesman then told me that it was "Reserved". I was a bit taken back... apparently it wasn't reserved but "Ordered" but the guy who ordered it wasn't sure he wanted it anymore. This was on a Thursday. The A.D told me he would let me know Monday (When the guy would look at it again)-- I told him I don't buy left-overs (Even if it is a beautiful 372).

I called the U.S boutiques, every one had a 372 in stock and offered to ship.
I decided, however, to revert back to my original decision "390".

Monday came around and my Pam 390 arrived from California.

:)

In any event, Call the boutiques for a 372.

Cheers!

Sorry to hear about that.

No different than what most Rolex AD's pull when asked about a stainless Daytona.

Oh we have a waiting list, blah, blah, blah.

They have probably 1 or 2 in the safe.

Silly AD games, but the good news is there are plenty of places to buy any watch.
