To buy or not to buy a second Snowflake?

Gents,
I've been bitten by the Snowflake bug. A few weeks after sourcing a black 9411/0, I'm seriously considering a blue one my trusted (and business-savvy ) Provider is proposing to me. I already have a fair share of affordable vintage Subs, including a Red 1680, white 1680, 5512, 5513, 14060M. I cannot go for the NCG /gilt Subs. Beyond my means.

Does a second Snowflake sound like a silly proposition out there? Am I really that baddddd into this? Thanks for help!

I would have gone for the blue first... you already have the black subs covered!

Black and blue has a nice ring to it [in this instance]. Plus, they'll only increase in value.

Very true, but a black one in mint condition came first..... Hard to pass. I have a very nice blue Seiko diver for whenever I need a fix of blue..... By the way the Seiko build quality is amazing and within 2 secs per day. We are really nuts to fall for the Rollies as often as we (I) do.

If it was not because vintage Rollies marginally qualify as investment-grade objects ( at least I try to convince myself they do), I would seriously reconsider my Rolex splurge!

Get the snowflake if it is a reasonable price. You will not regret it

If you have the "blue" sourced, and pass on it, let me know I will jump in.

Was debating Black & Blue myself so for grins and giggles I put a black 5513 insert on to see what I think....

Probably going to stick with blue...

Black and blue

Maybe it's just me, but the black and blue combo makes me feel queasy. There is something not right about it.

Just my two cents

I agree - to clarify, I put on the black insert to see if I would like another 9411/7021 in black. From certain angles, it tricks me into thinking it is black and while I like it, I do not like enough to need to move a black snowflake to the top of my list.

My dilemma is that I'm thinking of a 68 7021 with the roulette wheel (birthyear watch thing) and I would still probably want the blue. But why 2 blue Snowflakes?

My thoughts about double-ups .......

I have a few double-ups in my collection - 2 or more examples of the same reference.

The trouble is I always favour one of the double-ups over the others so some watches simply never gets worn.

An idea could be to try a blue insert on your current watch (for some variety) and think about something completely different for your next watch.

Here's a horrible old 5513 but it shows how a black dial can work with a blue insert IMHO
