Daytona Opinion Needed

A good friend of mine asked my opinion about this Daytona he's looking at in an auction. GMT's are more my area and I wanted to get the opinion of the experts here. Sadly, this is the only picture available for now.

WATCH: [1] Stainless steel Gents Rolex Daytona Cosmograph watch with black dial, Chronograph and stainless steel Oyster bracelet, circa 1991; model #16520, serial #N311278, movement model #4030, movement serial #56740, bracelet #503 78360, clasp #78360 [light scratches on bezel & bracelet]

nothing wrong with it.. shows some wear.. Seconds hand doesn't zero on reset..

However, auction is seldom the best way to purchase a watch.. The seller probably as a base price he won't sell it for less than, then there are the auction costs associated with a winning bid..

Auctions can result in sky high prices on pretty standard fare, which this one appears to be..

tell you friend to read the fine print "hammer price + buyers premium" ie. the commission could negate any bargain!

Looks good but maybe suggest he looks around first..

There may be better deals to be had than what you will usually pay at auction.
