Visiting Vegas AD's

Thank you to everyone that helped me on the last post on negotiating with AD's.

I have decided that Vegas would be a good place to visit to pick up my DJII; there are 6 AD's there and am sure that they are very competitive. Any 'special' considerations when working with the AD's in Vegas versus other AD's?

I am pretty new to all ... thanks!

Don't do it, buy on TRF.

Try to visit the Summerlin AD, T-Bird Jewels. Talk to Sharron or Darrel, he's the owner. Scratch that. Forget Darrel, talk to Sharron. Don't mention my name though..lol

EDIT: There's got to be more then 6 here.

Just trying to help, but anything normal like a Sub or GMT, good luck on discounts.

I go to Vegas frequently.. The good is that you will find an amazing selection. Definitely go to the AD at the Wynn.

On the flip side, they do not deal at all (at least every time I have tried).
You will have a blast checking out all of the watch places.. Well worth it!

At the Bellagio now, the Rolex dealer here won't deal at all, but was fun looking. Also, was at the omega boutique here as well, nice but no deals. Did get a copy of Omega, a journey through time there though. Very nice people.

But like others have said, buy through TRF.

Good luck.

The Rolex shop at the mirage gives some good discounts as well as the Rolex shop at MGM.

Wynn and tourneu do not give discounts.

Bellagio, Forum Shops, Wynn Boutique, Ben Bridge@Fashion Show and some of the others scattered about at Mandalay and MGM are all very nice stores. They have a huge selection and I would venture to say that you could find absolutely any dial/metal combination Rolex makes amongst all of them (yes, including the crazy 300-400k diamond versions). Anyways, it's a pleasure to look, but no one there will deal on price, especially on steel professional. They all act like shipping out of state is some big secret and that Rolex will come shut them down tomorrow if they do even 5% on a SS Sub.

The other thing I will say about AD's in Vegas is that with the exception of Ben Bridge and T-Birds, all of the others do not have the type of staff I am used to working with. I like a down to earth AD who talks WIS and who you can converse easily with. I like buying cars and watches from enthusiasts, not someone who is just selling something because it's their job. 50% of my job is sales, and I know my product backwards and forwards, so I expect other folks to do the same...Anyways, in Vegas you wind up with a lot of AD employees where there is a language barrier and they seem to have very little interest in the Rolex brand, what it stands for, etc. While this is all well and good, and I respect their work (please don't offense anyone to these comments) it is just that I enjoy talking to a dealer about the brand, the rumors, and the line; and sometimes that exchange of knowledge and enthusiasm makes me more excited about the purchase; and I would gladly give up the fancy trappings of the Vegas AD's for the WIS sales folks you can find elsewhere.

I second that. I was out there a couple months ago and tried on a lot of great pieces at several ADs and boutiques. Most places said they would ship the watch to my home address to save on sales tax, but no discounts off retail. I have no problem paying local sales tax if I see something that intrigues me. However, not $9k for a watch I can get from an AD outside of Vegas for around under $7k or from a trusted seller here for less.

I could not imagine any Vegas AD giving much of a discount. I'm sure the mentality is that some new quick rich sucker will come through the door and buy for full MSRP. I'd bet it happens all the time.

If your set on buying I'd take Mark's (JAGERVEGAS) advise. I'm out several times a year. A great place to window shop, but not to buy. Unless you hit the progressive on one of the slots.

I was pretty content with the 12% plus the 9.5% tax savings :) I agree, they move plenty of watches in Vegas which is why discounting in their eyes are not necessary. people just must not be as price sensitive there. I wonder what is the typical mark up at MSRP?
