New 'M' serial Air-King..proportions

Is it just me or does the hour and especially the minute hand seem to be disproportionately small (short and narrow) on this new "M" serial Air-King?
The new Air-King does seem to have quite a few improvements/changes:
SEL, new style bracelet & clasp, COSC, broad lugs.....but the minute hand

I took the photo from a Japanese web-site, I thought this was just the normal silver dial with white markers. I don't notice the markers were pink, but now you mention it.....yeah, must be a ladies model Air-King

i've got an m series AK in my hands at the moment and the indices appear white (though the dial on this watch is "rose"). the hands are a little small but are very readable and i think they are the right proportion for the watch (which is also small). i bought this watch for my mom, but i tried it on the other day and i thought it looked good on (and i'm used to wearing a gmt iic), but this watch is not a sports watch. it is, by design, refined and elegant. in the flesh, the minute hand does not look as small as the picture above (probably because of the way it catches the light). in the picture above, i believe that the hour hand is in the light, and the minute hand is in the shadow (based upon the shading on the dial) and that is contributing to the minute hand looking smaller than it really appears in person.

The hours hand looks ok, but the minutes hand looks pathetic.

Have to agree with you, Steve.....that long hand does look way too skinny!!

Here's a more proportionate and much better version!!

In my pic, the hands don't seem to have any luminova.

you are correct...i guess that is just a visualization of the watch.

after looking at the AK this morning i put on my gmt iic and the hands looked clownishly large!

You are right, it does look a little strange.

Just looked at a couple of my OP Dates, one dating from 1969ish and another from the mid 1980's, and both have minute hands slightly thinner than the hour hand. Anthough, they don't look as notable as the AK above.

Here is my K Series AK. A little thinner.

John.
