Beware of watchfinder.co.uk
Hi all just a little note to fellow members to be very careful when dealing with a internet company called WATCHFINDER .CO.UK
I thought id contact them with 2 16600 seadwellers both V series models i had for sale , spoke to a guy called Tom Holland and he said they would pay £3000 to £3200 LOL ! i almost wet myself with laughter ! we all know they fetch closer to 5K they also have a 7 year old model for £4750 so what they want for a 3 year old model ? I just hope no one on here is fooled by these guys trying to devalue watches to make a quick buck This is meant to be informative and not to bad press watchfinder as any one else had any dealings with them ???? |

I assume you mean figuratively and not literally. It's best to choose your words carefully, even on the internet. They are a bricks and mortar operation it seems, with a staff of a dozen or so. They, like my local AD, prefer to acquire watches at cost price or similar. Never in a month of Sundays would I let my watches go for cost price, so I choose not to deal with WF, at least not when I'm bringing a watch into the deal. Blowers seem to be the only volume seller giving decent part exchanges as far as I can tell. "Beware" and "Crooks", those are your opinions. Seems too strong to me. |

Yeah they are a business what on earth do you expect?? If you dont want to accept their price then you put in the effort and sell it privately or you go elsewhere. For them to offer £3200.. is not that bad in reality.
They have to pay income tax on what they sell and VAT! VAT alone is 20%. yes bet you dont think the offer is that bad now Additionally i dont really think watchfinder are that good in general but that is a different story.

FWIW , I dealt with them about a year ago , as a buyer , and was quite happy with the service ( although the deal didn't happen in the end ).
Like said above - its their offer , you can take it , negotiate or leave it. They are a business after all. If they were consistently under valuing they would eventually have no stock .... And they seem to have quite a bit. Regarding your watch I guess either they don't really want it or it was close to a fair price. |

Business can't offer you the market price for your watch..they have to offer below market to make money. Should I post everybody with "Beware" mark who gave me low ball offer for my watches???? If their prices look unfair to you, find another dealer...

So you're saying that you expect to trade in your car for the same as you could private sale for at a dealership? |

Thread seems unnecessary to me. They didn't steal from you, misdescribe a watch, etc. They just gave you an offer you weren't happy with. If you don't like the offer, go elsewhere. |

Watchfinder is really bad i tried dealing with them on couple ocassions what they offer for your watch is a joke whether its new or old £3000 for 16600? for that money i would buy one immidiately as im sitting in front my laptop. They offered £1800 for my 116000 oyster perpetual 6 month old 99.9% condition with some stickers left. From my experience most grey dealers want to make around £1500 on every watch they buy from you. As for buying from them they are ridiculously overpriced I would much prefer going to official rolex ad and buy brand new paying more, trust me its not going to be much more.

Let me get this straight...You want (preowned) retail prices from a (preowned) wholesale dealer?
With all due respect this is as ridiculous as it can it. Than you trash talk the company because you didnt get the offer you want? Am I missing something here? smith one |

Most dealers, especially in London, offer stupidly low prices for buying and ask stupidly high prices when selling...they just wait for the right mug to come along; that's how they stay in business...
Btw, might I add that people have had problems with Watchfinder, and I would not deal with them. Here is a thread from another forum detailing their misconduct: http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...uk-gt-gt-Avoid! |

Just go somewhere else and you'll find a better offer elsewhere.
