+1. There is a number stamped on the mainplate of each movement, though it is a different one than the serial number you see engraved on the case or rehaut and appears on your warranty card (or paper).

This is not unusual to Rolex, and can be seen on quite a few brands, particularly the more prestigious ones. On the "Certificat d'Origine" accompanying a Patek Philippe, for example, that document also notes a unique serial number for the movement inside that particular watch.
