That is very nearly the Regimental Colours of the Brigade of Guards.
If the middle colour was slightly more "purplish" than it would be.

just find out threading the nato upside down is easier to wear and also more comfortable

Clever experiments.

Flashy with the predominantly red band, but I think it looks better than the red and blue. It may be because the blue of the band (at least in the picture) is too cool and dark compared to the blue of the dial while the red of the band is similar to the dial's.

I also find that red on a watch goes well with any man's outfit mainly because men seldom wear red (except for the statesman's power club tie). So it complements via counterpoint. This still applies when men wear red clothing because in such rare circumstances (and due to their being rare) the accessory serves as emphasis.

This seems not to hold for blue (unless it is very bright, such as turquoise) in an accessory. Men often wear blue so the eye is accustomed to judging when blues don't match with something. Wearing blue is so common that societies usually have rules for it. For example, blue and black is often tricky--people will think you dressed in the dark wearing blue pants with a black jacket (but they will believe that pairing red pants and a black jacket was done to make a statement).

Keep in mind that all such rules or customs and can be overcome by putting on your most important accessory--the demeanor of confidence.
