The correct procedure for tightening ANY bolt..... crank on it until the head of the bolt snaps off... then loosen it 1/4 turn......

I totally agree. Once it stops, it's sealed. If you then unscrew it at all, it's not sealed any longer. Seems like asking for trouble.
