My 2012 DJ runs fast
My recently bought DJ (purchased in March 2012 from AD) runs about 13 seconds fast after 25 days, is that normal? When I first set it it was at 12:00 compared to my computer clock, now it's 12:13 compared to the computer.

I think that's fine.
Could be 5 or 6 sec a day and would be within standards I think |

Your computer is not a reliable source...even still, that equates to a rough average of 1/2 second a day!!!
Extremely good IMO! You have to remember, there are 86400 seconds in one day, so to be 1/2 second off is a marvel for a mechanical watch!!

13 seconds after 25 days come out to be 0.52 seconds per day. That's extremely good consistency. If you don't agree with me, then look at my signature......

I kept thinking it was 5-6 sec per month, that's why I was worried. Thanks for the input

You say it was 12:00, now 12:13. So has it gained 13 minutes in 25 days? That would be too much, but 13 seconds is nothing but accurate.

Is this a joke? That is amazing accuracy, you are so lucky and you don't even realise it.

13 minutes in 25 days is not acceptable.
I'd have it checked out.

My 14060M runs just roughly under a second slow a day and I'm pleased with that.

Half a second a day fast is about the best you can hope for.
And guys, not everyone who joins TRF is a watch expert. Little need to ridicule someone who doesn't know, people come here to learn. If everybody buying an automatic was an expert, watch companies wouldn't be including in the literature accompanying their watch that it needs to be wound and worn or it'll stop. :) |
