1675 Radial dial question...
Would first like to say that over the past few months of reading the vintage section of TRF, its quickly become my favorite forum on the internet..
So after a few hours of internet research..it appears the earliest serials for a 1675 Radial dial are 2-2.2 million, give or take..(please correct me if that is not accurate??) Assuming that is the case, is it possible an earlier serial (1.6 mill), that has a Radial dial was done so at service (thus a legit dial for the model / period)? or would this be considered a "fraken watch" ? |

Depends. I had a 4.18 serial (approx. 1974) that had a matte radial dial. I considered that one of the earliest radial matte dials.
Generally, when using the "radial" label people are referring to these matte dialed 1765s - although they are paying homage to the earlier versions of the 1675 and 6542.
