Rolex Dilemma

I am trying to make up my mind on whether to sell my F-series SD4000 and my M series Sub TT blue dial and acquire a Green Hulk Sub-C. I currently have a Deepsea as my dialy wearer and don't plan on ever selling that one. I just don't know what to do in regards to giving up my SD4000 and TTsub in exchange for the Hulk. What do you all think I should do? What would be better, having 2 iconic and classic watches or getting the new Hulk? I know I will have a couple of thousand dollars in the end as the two watches are worth more than the hulk but that is not something I would consider in my decision and obtaining another watch on top of the 3 I currently have is not an option either.

going from 3 Subs to 2 shouldn't be a problem - but maybe just sell the SD and then green would be a welcome addition to the black and blue dialed Subs.

Are you going to be happy waring the 116610LV after wearing your DSSD on the daily basis?

I see what you mean but doing this will require another 3K in investment.

The difference in weight does not bother me; as it stands, when I rotate from the DSSD to either I get used to it fast enough. I just don't know if the LV/Hulk is really that nice or worth the trade.

I love the LVC and think its a great watch. On the other hand a TT Blue Sub is my favorite sport watch. That said if your DSSD is your daily choice then I'd sell the SD for sure and decide if you really want to keep the TT or just have the two. I'd pick having the DSSD, LVC, & TTSub but that's me.

Good luck!

Hi Eddie, have you ever tried the 116610LV? That's the first thing to do in finding out the answer.

I never have and trying one on is almost nearly impossible; they don't have one at the local AD and I have never seen one in the wild. I've never even seen an SD or a DSSD in the wild either. I have seen many 16613's like mine though.

For the hulk I wouldn't do it. Perhaps for a Daytona or Explorer II 42.

You can also think of it this way - why sell the SD as you have 2 of the most over-engineered Rolex ever made? What I'm saying is you could sell the Sub and get a vintage 1665 and stick to having SDs.

I've had 2 daytona's: 116520 white dial and 116523 white dial. Ive had the explorer 2 as well. I got rid of them all as they did not really appeal to me. The daytona is hard to tell time and the explorer had a little itty bitty crown. I know the new one has a triplock crown but still not to my liking. Vintage is something to consider though-good idea.

I would at least keep one Rolex with the older style case, preferably the SD.

I would keep the SD and DSSD, the two most iconic divers ever, imho.

Here they are. The more I think about it the more I rather keep these two. But then again a green sub would sure look nice. I'm just concerned that I will get bored of the green sub too soon and regret getting rid of these later as many of us have had experience with that.

Wish i can help. But am very biased towards the sub especialy the LV. I would sell all to get a daily DJ wearer and an LV

I would keep the classics. They'd be harder to replace if you end up with seller's remorse.

The 116610LV I'm guessing will be around for quite a while yet so there's no need to be in a hurry to pull the trigger if you're still deliberating if it's right for you.

Keep the classics.. no two ways about it.. I dont have a lot of time for the new maxi case and ceramic bezel subs but the could wear a classic 16613 or sea-dweller all day every day..

I sold my TT sub and SD pictured above. I now only have my deepsea and the 116610LV. It is really nice and quite different than any rolex I have ever had. It just stands out a lot more than I thought it would. Now I'm thinking that some will think its fake. The color combination and the way it changes color at every angle makes it look even better. At some point the dial almost looks black. Also, the band squeaks a lot... maybe cuz its new?

Now, I don't know how long to keep the stickers on before it starts to look silly. Also, love the sqeaky noise the bracelet makes....will enjoy that music while it lasts.
