Agree with most people's replies. Just be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine.

Thanks to all that contributed to the thread.
To answer all the replies about "would you wear it in NY"? "would you wear it on earth"? I have traveled to many large cities in the United States and have never been told to not wear my watch. Multiple people have told me to not wear jewelry to Paris. I have never been there so why not ask? Why do people get so annoyed at asking about a place I have never been to? My YG is insured but my SS is not. I guess I will wear the SS sub. Thanks for all the positive support.

Smoak, the negative reactions to your query are probably due to the seemingly endless amount of "is it safe..." threads that can be found on this forum. I wouldn't let the responses bother you; you've never been there so why not ask people who have in order to get some peace of mind so you can enjoy your trip?
I just got back from a week in France, spent most of my time in Languedoc and the Riviera, but had a night in Paris. Wore one of my Submariners the entire time without incident so I wouldn't worry too much about wearing a Rolex. As others have said, be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine. |

Insurance is a wonderful thing to have.
However...it doesn't do much good if your thief thinks a watch would be much easier to take off of a corpse. |

Donīt worry about Paris. You can wear your Rolex watch. Itīs an civilized european city with a regular crime level. Usually the steal handbags and moneybags from people which carry them really visible.
