Decision re. inhereted 1601 and box
Thanks again to all who responded to my many questions about my dad's 1601 and its box. I have decided to hang on to the watch. But there is no paperwork linking the watch to the box (or other documentation/receipts), it is not a common 1601 box/watch "set", and my dad never mentioned the box. Thus I see the watch and box as distinct items, as I believe a Rolex collector/aficionado would due to lack of documentation. Therefore, I have decided to move the box on to a serious Rolex collector via eBay auction. It will be interesting to see what it brings!
Many thanks again! |

Allright !! Glad to see you are keeping it as well. I think you will be glad you did. I love seeing my brother wear my Dad's old Rolex-which ironically enough is a tutone Datejust Model 1601 like yours. Also from ~1968. Congrats !
