Daytona Redundancy?
Having watched this forum for quite some time I must say that I am impressed with both the knowledge base as well as the general respect that both old and new members receive. Having started my collection in 1981 with a Sub/date from Watches of Switzerland in London, I have had the chance to add a "few" more since then. This year my AD has allowed me 3 SS Daytona's, in as many months, will keep a Black and White example and give my father a nice surprise. I must pass on a special thanks to Bo, who is a great resource, especially when "It's raining Daytona's". Thanks to all and I look forward to being a part of it.

Welcome to TRF! My family has a history with Boston ( several Christian Scientists) . Great year for the Sox! I have a Daytona coming but not sure which color. I feel a bit odd getting one and asking for the other right away. You must have a great AD! Congrats!

Welcome to TRF. That sounds like a very nice gesture for your father. I'm sure he will love it. You must be high up in the food chain at your AD. Good for you. Enjoy them all and post some pics when you have the chance.

Welcome to TRF!
I also bought a Rolex (a DJ 16234) from Watches of Switzerland in London many years ago! Yes, it does seem to be raining SS Daytonas at the moment, but as I have stated I believe it is only of question of market fluctuations, and IMHO the SS Daytonas will become scarce soon again. Spring and later summer seem to be the times of year where most SS Daytonas turn up. I remember clearly how it was like with the predecessor "Zenith" Daytona. To turn back to London, a grey dealer there adjusted the premiums of the SS Daytonas up and down all the time due to market fluctuations. Sometimes there were just more SS Daytonas leaving the Rolex manufacture than at other times. As suggested, pics of your watches would be awesome!

You always remember your first... The Sub date in 1981 was 404 sterling. With the dollar at about $1.50 it was not so bad. Will post some pictures as soon as I get some time.

I have a Toshiba laptop computer. I need to buy an inexpensive digital camera and the hardware needed for posting photos. What should I buy. I would be proud to share photos of my twin Daytonas (not identical) |

My digital camera is a Sony T25 (8 MP), it's nothing special, so I think you should ask SLRdude, Jocke, Mike or Larry what cams they use and even more important HOW to make good pics!
