http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQg2d...eature=related
Just watched the above, wondered why they included that dialogue. "Rolex (Pause) bond replys "Omega" Was this an Omega marketing ploy, The girl assumed it was a Rolex, maybe the best in her mind. Was Omega marketing trying to imply Bond has only the best. you thought it would be Rolex, wrong Omega. what do you think

OMEGA paid an astronomic amount to have their brand as product placement in the Bond movies.
Would be great if Rolex could go Bond again, but I doubt it.

To be honest, Rolex takes some hits as being "masters of marketing". I'll grant you they're pretty good, but what do you suppose Omega paid to feature their watches in the Bond movies??
Those watches aren't props, they're co-stars. LOL! |

Rolex was the original Bond watch (as far as I know, without Rolex paying any $ for product placement), and just like they can replace the actor who portrays Bond with new actors, the watch can be replaced, but the original is still the best.
I hope that Rolex does not pay for a Rolex to be worn again by James Bond. It has been so over done by Omega in recent years with special editions and what not, that it has become cheesy, and the Bond series just is not what it used to be anyway. |

It's like they snuck a little 3 word commercial in there.
She - "Rolex"? He - "Omega". She - "Beautiful".

Speaking of BOND watches (Rolex and others), here is a link about them:
BOND WATCHES! CLICK! And here is a good thread about the Bond Rolex watches (note Padi's entry!). Also there is a bit about the Rolex Sub 5513 that was used in the Bond movie "Live And Let Die": "How hard it is to find a James Bond SUBMARINER?" CLICK!
