Blended scotch is somewhat cheating, since the scotch came from numerous years and blended together to suit the maker's taste.

I think it would be more appropriate to put the model lines under the year category for single-malt such as highland park and macallan. You want to enjoy single-malt neat just like you would with your Rolexes, in it's purest form.

10-12 yrs: oyster perpetual and date just models

15-18 yrs: Steel sports models (ie. sub, Daytona, etc.)

20-25 years: gold and platinum models of any line

30 years+: vintage Rolex such as 1655 and 6265, etc.

No Johnnie Walker in the house at the moment, but here is my "blue label" with one of my regular single malts. Right now though, I'm clinging on to these last weeks of summer and enjoying a refreshing glass of Verdejo.

It all depends on where you buy it. I picked up an engraved bottle for 100 bucks and it came with a 4 pack sample each 200ml of jw black gold green and blue.

You cannot deny the fact that both brands have an intoxicating effect and are addictive

Green label no longer produced, so buy it while you can if you like it.

I prefer Gold & Black labels, unless the Blue label is a really good bargain like it used to be ten years ago at duty free places on my cruise trips.

I don't drink JW, so I hadn't heard about the green being discontinued, thanks for the info
