Remove Daytona end links possible?

I have a 116519 with leather strap.
Love the look of it, and love the leather strap. In fact I have constantly modified my metal-bracelet watches with leather straps.

Questions in the back of my mind is:
Can I remove the end links of the Daytona, if someday I fork out the $8,000 to buy the wg bracelet for it? Does any know if it's possible to do that?

It's not easy to do, you have to remove the bezel to remove the end links. Even then, I think the lugs are drilled differently to stop you from installing the bracelet at a later date, it would be easier to get the bracelet model and install a leather strap after

Correct, it won't work as the holes won't align with the gold bracelet.

Yes, because the endlink goes under the bezel, the holes for the endlinks are set differently:

Is this the same for the SS Daytona?

I've been looking at changing mine to a strap and assumed that the end links just came of which the spring bars.

The bracelet on the Daytona comes straight off, it's just the end links on the strap version of 18ct Daytonas that don't. You'll be absolutely fine to fit a leather strap onto a steel Daytona
