Rolex Sale

I just found out that a local AD is having a 3 day "watch sale" which yes will include "some" Rolex models. The "selected Rolex models" will primarily be Date Justs and they will be 30% off the regular retail prices. Sale starts tomorrow and I guess my day will be a busy day to say the least. I'm not really in the market for a Date Just as I just traded one into this retailer a month ago for a GMT 2 which I'm really enjoying. I'm curious if there are any other Rolex models in this sale as he told me there "may be" a couple of others.

wish they would have a similar sale here in Vancouver...the discounts from the ADs in Vancouver are way too small vs. the ADs in Toronto...

On my new GMT I got 15% which from what I've heard around this forum, seems to be better than average. I'm very curious to see exactly which models they are going to have with a 30% discount.

Interesting as the AD discount used to be 30% and now it's 25% (correct me if I'm wrong !)

If they have old stock at the old 30% discount, but using a newer MSRP then they are selling darn near actual cost.

If anything in the case sings to you, BUY IT !

Good Luck !

While I was on business in Calgary 2 weeks ago, one of the ADs had eight Rolexes on clearance. I was told this does not happen often at the AD. They were at 40% off.

Tourneau has a bi-yearly watch clearance at soffer haskin in nyc. All watches are severely discounted, however they dont come with box or papers in many cases. Some are used. Very limited rolex section if any. Mostly breitling cartier hublot etc... Good deal on a ROO there tho last time.

my thoughts exactly... all the ad's in the world are useless unless they find owners for watches. rolex is after all, a manufacturer first and a retailer second. the factory needs to keep humming and the market is the market...

Jomashop is running a Rolex door buster sale right now. Subs are just a 3% off, but there are some decent prices like 25% off Milgauss white or black. The DSSD is 10k. But the best price is for black or white dial Daytonas at$12,096, which is more than their stated retail price of $12,000, lol.

Will be interesting if it's just the slow selling dial combos being discounted or whether they'll also have some of the popular ones ...

in china businessmen are not buying 7600-12900$ rolexes and opting for cheaper cartier and omegas to give to their clients as gifts.

its a fire sale.

I should have PM'd you when I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago. I walked into Palladio in Downtown Vancouver:

Me: Good morning, would you have a SS Daytona Black Dial in stock
Sales Lady: I may have one in the back, if you are ready to buy
Me: Well...if you have one in stock, I am ready to buy at a reasonable discount
Sales Lady: Sorry we do not offer discounts on the Stainless Steel Daytona
Me: What about if I buy at your MSRP, can you waive the taxes for tourists?
Sales Lady: No.
Me: So you do have one in stock?
Sales Lady: If you are ready to buy at MSRP + taxes I can check for you.
Me: Thank you and Goodbye

This was "the" worst AD experience I've had. I guess Stainless Steel Daytonas are flying off the shelves in Vancouver.

Monte Cristo across the street had much better service but did not have anything in stock that I was interested in.

OMG . . . who buys in this store . . . ?

You just have to spend $ + 10 K and that's what they tell you . . . not even checking if they have it or not . . . .

We'll maybe not correct from me : but I would awnser to the sales guy something like this . . . "You know where you can stick your Daytona !"

Amazing what sales 'quality' some people have . . . . ;-)

you're pissed because they didn't give you the discount that you wanted? If that's the worst experience you've had, that's pretty good.

I agree with you mmmk604, I do not know anyone from any of the Vancouver ADs, but my buddy in Toronto is a regular customer at Damiani, Le Difference and Humbertown.

As I don't recall the MSRPs of the following, I can't calculate how much discount they were ready to part with. But here are the TAX INCLUDED prices from the Toronto dealers for the following brand new pieces:

Daytona Choco Leather Strap = $24,000
Daytona Rose Gold = $32,500
Day-Date Platinum Blue = $46,000
Daytona SS = $12,000

While I was quoted by my local AD Lugaro here in West Van:

Daytona Rose Gold = $37,850...again didn't know anyone in particular.

The best source for second hand and brand new grey mkt pieces in Toronto IMHO is Sean at Watchfinder.ca...while the worst is Van Rijk, do yourselves a favour and avoid a horrible experience.

Wrong, because if they even took me seriously they would've at least told me if they had one in stock, rather than telling me that they "might" have one in stock only if I was ready to buy. Every customer that walks in should be treated as a potential "ready to buy" customer.

Actually for a BNIB black dial stainless steel Daytona it's quite close to MSRP (without taxes). The white dial goes for about 10-15% cheaper here.
