Sub Lume Question

...At what serial number prefix and date did Rolex change the lume on the Submariner Date from tritium to superluminova?

The switch to luminova began circa 1998.

Rolex changed from Tritium to Luminova in 1998.

In year 2000, Rolex changed from Luminova to the higher grade SuperLuminova.

Dials from 1998 to 2000 thus say "SWISS" and not "SWISS MADE".

Here is an overview over the luminous materials used by Rolex during the years:

"Luminous Material"! CLICK!

That is correct. However sometimes it get confusing. There was a period of time when Rolex released luminova dials with SWISS T<25 tritium markings.
These were dials already in house from the dial manufacture with out lume applied. Rolex simply used these dials till they ran out concurrently with SWISS only dials.

Also of note current replacement dials are also marked SWISS only but use the newer Superluminova.
